Print & Play: Native Trees I.D. Chart

Living in Maine, we’re lucky to be surrounded by plenty of lush, green forests. We know many of the trees that stay green year-round are conifers, but which ones are they, exactly? With the recent vote around possible adoption of a version of Maine’s original state flag, which features an Eastern White Pine, you and your child may be more eager than ever to brush up on your tree facts. Even though we’ll be keeping the current flag, it’s still fun and useful to know what kinds of trees are in your own back yard! So today, we’re offering up a fun learning activity: a Conifer I.D. Chart!

Print it out at home or from your local library and have fun learning bout the different conifer trees that are native to Maine. Check them off as you spot them!
